Syside 1.0.0 released

Released on October 14th, 2026.

This version’s documentation.

Syside 1.0 is here: built for enterprise systems engineering at scale. The full release notes are in the blog post: Releasing Syside 1.0: for production at scale. Here is the short version.

One product: Syside

  • Syside Editor, Modeler, CLI and Automator are now one product, Syside. It ships as a VS Code extension and as a Python library with a CLI.
  • The CLI and the Sysand package manager now install with the Python library.
  • The Syside Modeler extension gets no more feature updates and will be discontinued on 2027-01-21.

New diagram engine

  • A new in-house visualization engine with full SysML v2 diagram coverage, available in both the extension and the Python library/CLI.
  • Two-way sync between diagrams and textual notation, adjustable depth, on-the-fly style switching and custom (including conditional) element colors.

Modeling, views and automation

  • New diagnostics and validation rules for more accurate models.
  • Table, matrix and diagram views now render even when a model has non-critical errors. Hierarchical tables have been expanded.
  • Python APIs load models better and guard against patterns that make scripts slow.

:warning: Before you upgrade

1.0 contains breaking changes to models, settings, views, grids and Python scripts. Please follow the Migrate to Syside v1 guide.

Getting Syside 1.0

Syside 1.0 needs a valid license to download. For now it is available to paying users only and isn’t on the VS Code/VSCodium marketplaces or PyPI. Syside 0.x tools are still available on those channels. See plans and pricing.
